Se enviarán con pulóveres y chalecos de pelo de guanaco.
El gobierno de Río Negro suscribió un convenio para exportar prendas confeccionadas a mano por mujeres pertenecientes a la comunidad mapuche como parte de un programa que busca resaltar la cultura aborigen y generar ingresos en esta parte de la población. En principio se enviaron 40 unidades de muestra a Boston, Estados Unidos, tras lo cual se formalizó el pedido inicial de 250 pulóveres y chalecos de pelo de guanaco y 50 prendas confeccionadas en telar, lo que representó unos 7500 dólares.
Además, se firmó un convenio de exclusividad por dos años con la firma Nativa Corporation, encargada de la comercialización en Estados Unidos que, a su vez, busca ingresar con ellas en el segmento artesanal de la indumentaria canadiense.
Según explicó el coordinador del Mercado Artesanal rionegrino, Juan Carlos Leuze, los productos elaborados en la provincia patagónica se fabrican en distintos centros artesanales que están ubicados en el sur de la provincia.

Leuze indicó que el programa, además de resaltar la cultura mapuche, tiene como finalidad jerarquizar a los artesanos, con lo que se logró implementar un registro provincial de todos ellos y se están ultimando los detalles para que estén debidamente acreditados y de esta manera poder llegar a una obra social, que dé cobertura a los 18 centros artesanales que albergan una población de 560 personas.
Lo recaudado por las exportaciones va a la comunidad mapuche, ya que el Mercado Artesanal instrumentó una cuenta recaudadora y una cuenta pagadora, que "nos permite asegurar que lo que se recauda se transfiere inmediatamente al artesano que confeccionó la prenda", aclaró Leuze, y agregó: "El monto de la venta vuelve en un 90 por ciento, ya que el Mercado Artesanal retiene un 10 por ciento para cubrir los gastos de facturación, transporte y gastos aduaneros".
También anticipó que ya recibieron pedidos formales de un shopping de Barcelona, en España, y están adelantadas las conversaciones con firmas de Inglaterra. "Pretendemos firmar convenios de este tipo, que nos asegure que la gente va a tener por dos años una continuidad de trabajo", expresó.
Las prendas serán exportadas con el sello del Mercado Artesanal que garantiza su calidad y asegura que fueron confeccionadas sin el uso de máquinas industriales.
El alto contenido de mano de obra es uno de los puntos que enaltece esta operación de comercio.
